Final scenes from our Dutch holiday

One of the places we visited with both sets of parents

If you look to the left, you'll see clogs - Dutch folks really do wear these, primarily for gardening (they're big into gardening over here).

The main grocery shop

Sandwich shop (broodjes means sandwich in Dutch)

In Den Haag, near Richard's parent's apartment

Got cheese?  Big on their dairy over here.

The Netherlands - August 2010

{Holland Bound!}

Baby Doll - check

Is it that obvious that we have young children?

GoGoBabyz - check.  These are wheels for your car seat and the BEST travel aid if you have kids.  We don't fly anywhere with out them!

Pictures of my precious babies - check. (PS Love the Ju-Ju-Be diaper bags!)

Boarded!  I brought about 3 extra spare outfits for Sebastian and one extra for Isabelle...  Should have been the other way around.  Between various mishaps with liquids - mostly to do with Miss Independent refusing her sippy cup and wanting to drink juice from the cup (on a moving plane) - we went through her entire lot of clothes within the first 15 minutes of our flight!

Finally, all is settled for the moment...

After fighting sleep for a long time, he finally dozed off...

Psyche!  That didn't last.

{Happy in Holland}

The Pelzers join us on a whirlwind tour of the Netherlands - this is their first time meeting Sebastian!

Gorgeous happy girl.

"Great Aunt Hester, I'm glad you think it's cute that I don't go to bed, my parents have no sense of humor."

A Dutch winkel

Nothing like open doors and windows when coming from dusty Doha

They eat this.

Sweet baby girl

Scheveningen beach - where we would frequently visit.
Madurodam- a mini Netherlands and a must see for all with children!

Boy boy

The kids received the entire Disney book collection from Grandma and Grandpa
Visiting Great Grandmother, Omi.
I'm telling you, these two are kindred spirits.

Miss Independent, Miss Self-Sufficient (to the tune of Kelly Clarkson)

Family photo while going on a walk with Richard's cousin Hesje near their beautiful farm house (I can't believe I didn't get a photo of it!)
Visiting family friends in Rijswijk.  Sebastian was napping in the house while Isabelle made herself right at home with the watering can and toys, which normally would have been okay except...
...for the funny phase she's in of not tolerating a single piece of clothing with a drop of dampness on it.  So approximately 5 minutes into our stay, she is completely and utterly in her birthday suit.  And wouldn't you know that I didn't even have a diaper with me to put her in (she was in panties) or a spare set of clothes?  Happy, she was, in all her pride and glory.

At Peppermint Cafe in Den Haag
My cheerful boy out with mama for a morning coffee in Den Haag

Wow - if this picture doesn't capture Isabelle's personality, nothing does.  Strong, happy, focused, cheerful...our precious girl.

Having so much fun getting free reign of the park.

Here we go!
Sebastian learned to roll over in Holland!
Such a special bond these two have.
